Future Facilities Planning

The Perry Local School District has been presented with an opportunity to address its aging school buildings. The district is seeking the community’s input to determine how to move forward regarding this issue. The Perry Local School District and its Building Advisory Committee have determined that renovating all of the buildings would be cost prohibitive. As such, after extensive work with local community advisory groups, they have established three overall facility plan options for consideration. The community is being asked to participate in upcoming focus groups or an online survey to help the district on its plan for a potential 2020 ballot initiative.

Circle Time Update - Student Mindfulness

Over the next month, we will be discussing thoughts and emotions during circle time. This is an important month for our building. We are witnessing our students this year struggling with emotions, which results in lashing out in an inappropriate way. We have great kids and want to help them develop the skills necessary to regulate their emotions. Our Panorama survey results tell us even our kids feel that they struggle at times with emotions. As a response over the next month you should talk with them about what they are doing every Wednesday morning to develop coping strategies. It would be a great dinner table conversation. Below you will find the link to see the lesson each classroom participated in during Circle Time.

Pfeiffer recognized as a Building of Distinction - Back to Back A's

Pfeiffer Intermediate has for two consecutive years received an A as a building on our state report card. Only 8 schools in the entire county received this distinction. This put Pfeiffer in the top 7.8% of all buildings in the state. Great job students and staff. We are all very proud of your hard work and effort!!

Pfeiffer Wins - Ohio Middle Level Association Component Award Winner

Pfeiffer Intermediate is receiving a component award from the Ohio Middle Level Association for its work with Advisor/Advisee programming. The award is given to a school who embraces a building wide model that focuses on the relationships between students and staff. We pride ourselves at working with our students to a provide time for them to have a voice. The middle ages are such a challenging time for our kids that we felt a need to help guide them through their struggles. We recognize that it is very important to nurture the intellectual needs, as well as the social and emotional needs of our students.

General Mills Box Tops Collection Contest

It’s time to start collecting! We will be collecting General Mills Box Tops to raise money for our 5th and 6th graders at Pfeiffer. The proceeds are used by the PATS parent organization to support the many different activities and programs throughout the year. In the past, these funds have been used to purchase playground balls, storage carts, games to be used during inside recess, and lots more. For each box top collected our school will receive 10 cents.

Parent/Teacher Communication is key!!

The first point of contact is always the teacher. If you have a question regarding the content or a student's behavior in the classroom, please contact the teacher by calling the Pfeiffer office and asking for the teacher or e-mailing the teacher directly. Research suggests that positive communication between parents and teachers will increase student achievement.

Career and Wellness Center
