Mustang News - May 20th, 2022
From The Principal...
As previewed last week, we celebrated our graduating seniors over the last few days. From the Senior Parade to Senior Breakfast, to somewhat chaotic graduation rehearsals...it was a week to remember for the Class of 2022! Thank you to staff, families and student volunteers for helping this week come together. You truly made it a memorable and successful week.
We realize that the pending graduation plan for Sunday has caused inconvenience for our senior families. While the weather is out of our control, please know that we are working hard to make sure that graduation is special for our students. An update will be sent out with indoor and outdoor plans shortly. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

From Nutrition Services...
No Free Breakfast or Lunch Next School Year!
Why are meals no longer free?
Over the past two years, the federal government allowed all students to eat free breakfast and lunch regardless of family’s financial situations.
However, beginning August 19th, 2022
All students will be charged for both breakfast and lunch unless they qualify for Free and Reduced-price Meals. You will need to submit a Free and Reduced meal application for this school Year 2022/2023.
You can find the new application on the web site in July. www.mssd14.org - Nutrition Services Department
If you don’t qualify for free and reduce priced meals, please make sure that there is money in your student’s account.
Just a Note:
While you are submitting your application we will provide your student with meals allowing the student to charge meals. If the account goes into a negative balance the families are responsible for paying the outstanding balances. Please remember if your student had money on their account it is still there and if your student owed money it is still there also.

Shutter Speed!
Students were challenged with learning how to use shutter speed on their cameras.
They could use their own camera or one of the school’s (Nikon 3400, Canon Eos Rebel T7)
To stop the action they needed to use a faster shutter speed, which would “freeze” the image (water balloons)
To blur the image/action, they needed to use a slow shutter speed
Students then had to import a series of 3 images and crop onto a new image (see example above)
