Message from Leadership
Dear Warrior Family,
We hope everyone had a great first week back with our students. It was awesome to see everyone engaged in virtual lessons. Communication is key to our success during this time of uncertainty. November 2, report cards will be available online. Reminder, 8th grade students have an opportunity to show "what they know" this week in Science and Social Studies. BOY test will be administered during their designated classes. We are on the War Path to Excellence! We are striving to be great, and we want everyone's commitment to trust the process.
The second nine weeks of school is actually seven calendar weeks. We only have seven Fridays ("C" Days) during this grading period. In total teachers and students only have 13 "A Days" and 14 "B" Days of instruction. It is imperative that students are available for optimal learning during this time frame. We encourage students to attend school everyday and turn in your assignments.
Socorro ISD continues monitoring the health of our community and working closely with the El Paso Department of Public Health and area school districts to Keep SISD Safe. Due to the spike in COVID-19 cases here in El Paso, our district putting safety first and working closely with city officials we will continue with "Remote" instruction. #TeamSISD will follow the Region 19 School Systems COVID-19 On Campus Attendance Plan, which was developed following Socorro ISD’s framework for utilizing data to guide our Back to School Safely transition. We will provide additional details as specifics are finalized. Team SISD urges our community to do their part in flattening the COVID-19 curve by wearing their masks in public, washing their hands frequently, and practicing social distancing.
It will take everyone's efforts to understand the importance of safeguarding our campus around the clock to ensure there is no chance of “school spread” since the trust and confidence of our community in our entire district is dependent on our ability to deter and prevent the spread of COVID-19 on our campus. Continue to social distance, wash your hands frequently and wear your mask.
