BOOK FAIR CONTINUES THROUGH WEDNESDAY
The Book Fair continues through Wednesday, March 7th. Thanks to all that were able to attend the Green Eggs and Ham breakfast last Friday. This week there is a special Tuesday late afternoon session from 4-6 pm. Did you know that you can also order books online? Go to Books Online to do so. Also, if you have not had the opportunity to volunteer for the Book Fair please consider doing so by going to the Book Fair link to determine when you can help. Mrs. Woronka's Class Donates to Saving Grace
Great job by Mrs. Woronka's class. Thank you to all that donated to Saving Grace. Together they collected:
- 178 pounds of dry dog food
- 22 pounds of wet dog food
- 9.5 pounds of snacks
- 8 rolls of paper towels
- 20 jars of peanut butter
- 22 toys
- 8 blankets
- 120 garbage bags
- several bowls, leashes, training pads, collars, and dog clothing
- We've also raised now $470. My kids don't even know that increase yet :-)

TOY SEMIFINALIST BOARD OF ED. RECOGNITION: The Board of Education will recognize Peggy Freer and the other 26 Teacher of the Year Semifinalists at the Tuesday, March 6th Board of Education Meeting. Congratulations!!
PIECES OF GOLD PERFORMANCE: The student Pieces of Gold chorus will perform this Wednesday, March 7th at the Progress Energy Center. Good Luck to our students. Thanks to Mrs. Freer, Mrs. Nussbaum and Mrs. Coleman for all the extra time spent guiding the group.
CULTURAL ARTS ASSEMBLY: There will be a Cultural Arts Assembly “Living Rhythms" will perform on Friday, March 9 for Tracks 2, 3, & 4. All Grades will attend.
YEARBOOKS ON SALE NOW: Yearbooks continue to be on sale now. The early bird price for the yearbook is $20 through tomorrow, Monday March 5th. After Monday the price goes up to $25. Yearbook ordering options can be found at Pleasant Union Yearbook. You will need to enter Pleasant Union's Job #: 4262718
SPRING FLING: Be on the lookout for information from your child's teacher and room parent regarding the Sunday, April 22 Spring Fling (2-5pm). Room parents will be contacting you for contributions to fill their class' theme basket for the event and for volunteers to help with each of the events. More information will be posted on the PTA Website to find out more. Here is a snapshot of the many planned events for Spring Fling. Be on the lookout for more information. A big thank you to Denise Brown for organizing the event.
PARENTS NIGHT OUT: The PUE Before and After School Program will once again be offering a Parents' Night Out on Friday, March 16th from 6:30-9:30. Stay tuned for more information and how to sign up.
Author Visit: Author Carole Boston Weatherford is coming to Pleasant Union Elementary on Wednesday, March 28th for grades 3, 4, and 5. Please return book orders by next Friday, March 2nd. Grades 3-5 and McNeeley. Tracks 2-4 orders will be due March 14. Order forms will be sent home in Tuesday folders on Tuesday, March 6th.
