Featured Student
Iara from Portugal
Iara is a 16 year old Portuguese who describes herself as very calm, creative, active and curious. She loves music and enjoys to see her favorite artists live in concert. She listens to music wherever she goes. She loves watching movies too. Her favorites are the sagas: Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean and Lord of the Rings. However, her favorite hobby is traveling. And, her biggest dream is to spend a year traveling in Asia, Africa and South America. She lives with her parents, older brother and her dog. She is fascinated by science and chemistry. She hopes to attend medical school in the Czech Republic. She enjoys spending time with her friends and likes meeting new people. She doesn’t play on a sports team, but likes to play baseball, rugby and basketball. She enjoys surfing, wind-surfing and diving during the summer. She wants to study in the U.S. to know the country, the culture and to learn the language and pass through high school in the best way. She believes living and studying in a foreign country will help her grow as a person, become more independent and prepare her for university life. She thinks that it will be the best year of her life and is so excited to meet her host family.
We currently have students from France, Spain, Denmark, Finland, Germany, China, Thailand, Japan, & Azerbaijan (to name a few) who are ready to be placed with a host family. World Heritage students are personable, academically selected, conversant in English, bright, curious, excited and ready to learn about America by living as part of your family, attending high school and sharing their own culture and language with you.
