Public Works Administration (PWA)

PWA:

  • June 1933
  • The government gave contracts for public building projects
  • The PWA also made sure there were contracts for African American projects aswell
  • Created programs such as dams, highways, and bridge improvements
  • While creaating these new building projects, this created jobs and allowed Americans to gain a source of income.
