PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
February 24, 2023
Dear Walnut Hills High School Families:
I hope that you have had a great week and enjoyed our preview of beautiful weather!
Thank you to all of the parents who attended WalnutFest! It was fun to spend time with our school community while supporting programs such as the College Information Center, athletics and extracurricular opportunities. We greatly appreciate the Parent Association who planned such a successful and enjoyable event.
Please join me in congratulating our most recent state champ - senior Elleka Boeres. She set the school record for the 1M dive earlier this year and secured her title in the OHSAA State Swim and Dive Championship. Sending much luck to our Eagles who are still competing in the state championship this weekend; hopefully, more champs to announce soon! Junior Tamara Munoz was a Finalist in the Rotary Club Speech Competition after displaying her outstanding oratory talents. Our visual artists had a fantastic showing in the Regional Scholastic Art and Writing Awards this year. Please see here for the complete list of award winners from Walnut Hills. I particularly want to highlight Ellison Glenn (9), Chloe Lu (11), Alexandra Franz (12), and Clarisse Nall (12) for their distinction of a Gold Key, which is the highest level recognition. We had a number of students initiated this week into Quill and Scroll, a National Honor Society for Journalism. Our students do amazing things all of the time with their talents and opportunities. I just wanted to share some students that came to my attention this week!
Enjoy the weekend!
Sincerely,
John Chambers
