Looking for a summer job? We could use one or two people (14 years or older) to keep the lawn/field mowed this summer.

On May 21st after service, Audrey Gray, the Emergency Programs Manager, Anchorage Office of Emergency Management, will be presenting emergency planning. Disaster preparedness, including wildfires will be her topic. Her talk will be about 30 minutes, in order to leave time for questions and answers. She has not been to ORLC for a number of years, but her last presentation was excellent. Please take advantage of this event.

We are discussing the possibility of hosting a Chugiak 5k Fun Run on June 24th. The vision is that this would be a community wide run/walk to benefit the Chugiak Volunteer Fire Department. ORLC would be the starting and ending point. We are looking for a few volunteers to help in the planning process. If you have any additional questions please contact Lauren Johnston.

There will be a Planning Meeting on Monday May 22nd @ 7:00pm.

Kiana VBS Team: Dates TBD between May 20-June 17 (1 week within those dates).

Please consider joining a small team from Indiana who will be serving in Kiana for the first time. This is a new community to AMC with a seasoned team serving in the remote village. Flight path will be Anchorage to Kotzebue to Kiana (charter). Volunteers will be expected to cover their flight to Kotzebue and the shared cost of the charter. There would also be a minimal food cost for the week.

Pilot Station VBS Team: July 8-15.

An opportunity exists to join a long-serving team from southern California to share God's word through VBS ministry in this Yup'ik village. Flight path will be Anchorage to Bethel to Pilot Station (charter). Volunteers will be expected to cover their flight to Bethel and the shared cost of the charter. There would also be a minimal food cost for the week.

Sunday School will take a break on May 28th for Memorial Day weekend.

VBS registration is live! Go to our church website at www.orlc-ak.com to register. Dates are June 12-16 from 9:30am-12:00pm. We are blessed to have an Alaska Mission for Christ team running VBS for us again this year, but we have been asked to fill in a few gaps. We need helpers in the snack area, the registration tables, and in the preschool room. There is a sign up sheet in the Connection Corner or see Lauren to volunteer.
