Homeroom Buzz
Edition date: 9/15/14
What's buzzing in Room 220
We are in the midst of our first Science unit of the year! We are studying the ocean environment. We have already learned about the ocean floor, currents, tides, salinity, and even made a model of the ocean floor. We will start an in class group project on Monday the 15th that will focus on protecting and preserving biodiversity. Our ocean unit will end on Friday, September 26th.
Your child has been hard at work in math class learning how to communicate his/her thinking, learning about characteristics of numbers, and also how to multiply and divide using the algorithm. Please help your child become fluent in his/her multiplication facts as well as how to multiply and divide using the algorithm.
We are also excited about our Writer’s Eye field trip of the year! The permission slip went home on Friday for your child to be able to participate in the Writer’s Eye trip as well as the writing competition. We are so excited to have this free opportunity!
