Mrs Richmond's Newsletter
MATH: Next week we will be applying our knowledge of division to word problems. We will be including some 2-step problems to stretch the children's problem solving skills. These can be tricky and your child may need some extra support at home.
READING: Mclass assessments are now complete! Our next unit will be non-fiction. We will be identifying features of non-fiction texts and more importantly, how they help us understand the text and answer questions by using the information presented. Please encourage your child to read a balance of fiction and non-fiction books.
SOCIAL STUDIES: As it will be Black History month, our focus will be important people from American history. We will be researching different people using different research methods.
** Homework - Please sign your child's agenda on a daily basis to show that your child has completed that night's homework. I expect homework to be turned in on time. Every Monday we write all the homework in our agenda so we know when it is due in. Also, please try and let your child do the homework by themselves, but then check it over with them. We go through homework every day so the children are aware of how they should answer the questions.
