EIPS Drone Camp A Success

On April 30 and May, Bev Facey hosted the EIPS Drone Camp 2022 which had students from around the school division take part in level one instruction by Volatus Aerospace. Students learned piloting skills, how to set automated flight paths, and explored careers.

One of our very own students, Katherine G. had the opportunity to attend the camp. Here is her experience in her very own words:

"At drone camp this past weekend (April 29 and 30), I learned a lot about flying drones and what kind of stuff the drone industry is about. The first day was a lot of piloting, we ended up making an obstacle course to fly through at the end. The second day was about half photography/videography and half coding. The photography part was simple but probably my favorite, we got to try out a bunch of different angles and types of shots. The coding was harder, but my group did pretty well and we were able to troubleshoot and get it to work. Overall, I had a good time and am happy to have a skill I might be able to use for making videos in the future."
