Weekly Update

Strive Center for Autism

Welcome back Jessica!

Please help us in welcoming Jessica back to Burton! Jessica has been our BCBA in our Burton location since 2018, and will be returning from her maternity leave next week. We are so happy to have her back in person, and we know you are all happy to see her too. Evey and Amy will help support the transition back into her role, and Jessica is really looking forward to seeing all of her families.

Farm and Garden Dramatic Play

The theme for August is farm/garden. Our kids are enjoying dramatic play with gardening tools, pots, pretend "dirt", gloves, hats, and flowers!

Parent Training with Evey

As you know, Evey Sobczak is beginning to provide additional parent training for all of our families. This training will also be available to families whose children are not currently attending ABA at our centers, but we want to prioritize increased treatment for our current families. Here are some areas that Evey could help you with:

  • Potty training
  • Eating
  • Sleep difficulties
  • Sibling relationships
  • Challenging behavior at home
  • Extended caregiver support and training - for babysitters, grandparents, anyone who spends a lot of time with your child!
  • Communication
  • Increasing independence

These are just a few of the areas that Evey can help you with, so please start thinking about how this would help your family and let Evey know what you need.

Do you know someone who is great with kids?

Even with our wonderful new staff members, we are still hiring for two full-time positions in our Brighton location. If you know someone who is great with kids, and has HEART, please refer them to our website to apply:
