Congratulations to last week's Paws for PRIDE winners: Sam Snyder, Brooke McPeak, Blake Bell, Zachary Prest, Raghav Sehgal, Maeve Logue-Conroy, and Cole Maholtz.

These students were chosen at random to be recognized and celebrated for demonstrating one of our five character traits - Pride, Respect, Individual Responsibility, Determination & Empathy. Thank you to all of the Titus families for your support of our Paws for PRIDE program.

Titus' Wall of Honor . . .

We will once again be creating a visual tribute to veterans from the families of Titus students and staff. At the beginning of November, the windows of the rotunda will be filled with pictures of military personnel. If you have a family member who served or currently serves in any branch of the military, please send in a picture of them along with their name, branch of service, wars fought (if any), student’s name and relationship to veteran. Please know that only adults will handle the pictures. We will scan them and return them to you. Pictures need to be sent to the office marked Wall of Honor by Monday, October 26th. Thank you!

Please note that if you sent in a picture in a previous year, you do not need to resend the picture. We keep them from year to year. If you need to update any information on the picture, such as additional children now attending Titus, please email Mrs. Schorpp.

Attn: Active & Retired Military Members . . .

You are invited to start your Veterans Day with the students and staff of Titus Elementary. We are extending an invitation to the family members of any current student or staff member who serve or served in the United States military to join us for a short (30 minutes) but powerful tribute to veterans on Wednesday, November 11th.

As we gather as a school, we would simply like to acknowledge the veterans in our families. If you can join us on November 11th at 8:30 AM, please RSVP by November 3rd to Mrs. VanVreede or Mrs. Niemeyer-Schorpp. An RSVP is necessary for our planning. Parents, due to limited space, thank you for understanding that this whole school gathering is for Titus students and staff as well as military members only.

Parent Positive Speaker Series

Elaine Pasqua is the first speaker in Central Bucks School District's Parent Positive Speaker Series. She is a nationally recognized expert and will be sharing her talk on: Responsible Choices: Raising Our Children to Understand the Consequences of Alcohol and Drugs. Please click here for more information and specifics surrounding the presentation.

Central Bucks School District is proud to be partnering with CB Cares, Doylestown Health, and the Central Bucks YMCA to bring this speaker to the CBSD community.

Parent Resource . . .

As we enter Red Ribbon Week, we would like to share a parent resource with all of you. Whether you’re a parent, relative, or mentor to a child, there are going to be times when you need help discussing issues both big and small regarding drugs and alcohol.

The Time to Talk Talk Kit - found on our parent resources page under Red Ribbon Week - shares ideas on how to start talking, scripts on what to say, and tips for answering tough questions, this kit can help you keep the child in your life healthy and drug-free.

Reading Has Gone to the Dogs . . .

Mrs. London's 4th graders were so excited to welcome Freya, their Roxy Reader, to their classroom last Friday during DEAR time. Freya enjoyed some good ear rubs while listening to the students read to her.

Sneaker Recycling Challenge . . .

We've been challenged by the folks at Community Recycling to donate as many sneakers as we can by November 20th in their Great Thanksgiving Sneaker Challenge. Instead of earning .50 per pound we will earn $1.00 per pound towards our iRun4Life program at Titus.

We will continue to accept any gently used shoes, but only "sport shoes" will go towards the challenge. Our school has always been one of their top donators in the area. Let's keep it going and make it an even better iRun4Life program in the Spring. Thanks in advance for your support!

Home & School Association:

Where are Those Pictures?!?!?!

Several families have been asking how can they access pictures from the 2014-2015 Home and School Guys & Dolls Dance.

Well, the Home and School Association has everything taken care of! Please click here. This will take you to the Home and School Association's web site, which will take you directly to all the photos of that evening.
