Elementary Early Release Training: Thursday
Yesterday, English Landing staff received training from a MOREnet professional development staff trainer. What is MOREnet? MOREnet is the Missouri Research and Education Network which operates within the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri.
This MoreNet trainer came to English Landing and led a professional development iPad session with our staff. English Landing is fortunate that every certified staff has at least one iPad, so this training was an opportunity to discover new learning apps to enhance the learning experiences for our eagles.
One of the apps which created a lot of enthusiasm took pictures of post it notes and then made it possible for students to easily manipulate the photo of post it notes to create various groupings. The concept that one photo of post it notes could be utilized by many different students to create various groupings or clusters was amazing! Each week, during word work lessons, all of our students are manipulating words in different word sorts. Using technology to practice this skill created a lot of excitement with the teachers.
