Pioneer Trail Elementary
FEBRUARY 2020 Parent Newsletter
NOTE FROM THE ADMIN.....
- Stay home if sick - POLICY STATES: Children are required to be excluded from school for 24 hours after conditions (fever, vomiting/diarrhea) subside WITHOUT use of medications - THIS BY FAR IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR THE SCHOOL SETTING
- Clean/disinfect your child's coat, backpack, etc. that they bring with them to school to help rid of picked up germs.
- Remind your child to cover nose and mouth when sneezing or coughing.
- Wash hands frequently - certainly before eating, touching face, etc.
- Remind students to not share anything that goes into the mouth, such as drinking cups, straws, and water bottles.
- Consider an annual influenza vaccination that is recommended for children 6 months to 18 years of age
The school is also taking steps to help disinfect and deep clean common areas and items touched by large amounts of individuals. If you think your child is coming down with something, probably wise to get it checked out ASAP.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our school nurse, Christine Koestner, for additional information.

We are specifically looking for Difference Makers tied to the JCPS organizational pillars: Learning, Partnerships, and Stewardship.
