Yearbook News
Cold Spring Elementary School’s 2015-16 yearbooks were distributed on Monday, June 13th to all the students who purchased them in advance. Our publisher sent us a few additional yearbooks, so if you did not purchase a yearbook already but would like one, please contact Elizabeth at ecoran6@yahoo.com to be sure you get one before we run out. Yearbooks are $16 each, cash or check payment to CS HSA.
If you’d like to join the Yearbook Committee for next year, please contact kceez@verizon.net. We are especially looking for volunteers who might like to serve in various coordinator/editor roles.
CB Cares Boomerang Nominees for May
Congratulations to our Boomerang Nominees for May: Cooper Bliss, Brady Colbert, and TJ Harrington. These students were nominated for exemplifying the asset of “Positive Peer Influence” - young person’s best friends model responsible behavior. They are a good influence. They make good choices. TJ Harrington was the student selected to represent Cold Spring for the way in which he exemplifies making good choices and influencing others to do the same. Congratulations to Cooper, Brady, and TJ for being nominated for this month’s Boomerang asset!
Last week at school, we held our annual Boomerang Nominees Celebration Snack Break to recognize and congratulate all 34 of the Cold Spring students who were nominated for Boomerang Awards this year. Congratulations to all our nominees for the year, and thank you to all the parents, teachers, and friends who made these nominations. Recognizing the positive assets our students possess is an important part of encouraging their development.
The Boomerang nominations will be on summer break, but back again in the fall. To learn more about CB Cares programs, including the Boomerang Youth Recognition Awards, visit http://www.cb-cares.org/index.cfm
Summer Reading
Where will you read this summer?
Don’t forget to get “caught” reading somewhere this summer and send your picture to Mr. Finger. We can’t wait to hear about all of the great books everyone will read this summer and see the fun and unique places you found to get lost in a book.
There are also several great reading incentive programs around our area. Please see below for details:
Bucks County Free Library - Everyone is invited to join the 2016 Summer Reading Challenge! Beginning on June 18, the library challenges YOU to sign up and log your summer reading minutes. Visit their website to download your log and learn more about the program. Join them and work together to reach our record-breaking goal of 2 million minutes this summer! (This Summer Reading Challenge is funded with support from Fred Beans Automotive.)
TD Bank - Everyone agrees that summer reading is important for kids – and TD Bank wants to make it a bit more fun! Their Summer Reading Program encourages reading and also helps children learn about saving money. Kids in grades K-5 can participate by following this link https://www.tdbank.com/summerreading/
Barnes & Noble – Everyone earns a free book!! Follow this link to find out how http://www.barnesandnoble.com/b/summer-reading/_/N-rs9
Happy reading!! Mr. Finger, Mrs. Christie and Mrs. Meade
Make-A-wish Flea Market - THANK YOU
Thank you very much for your generous donations to our Make-A-Wish Flea Market! We were able to present Make-A-Wish with a check for $3,255! It is so rewarding being able to help grant wishes for children in our area. Thank you for your support!
Thank You to ALL our Volunteers!
On behalf of our 2015-16 HSA Executive Board, THANK YOU to all of our committee chairs and volunteers for everything you did this year for our Home and School Association. Have a wonderful summer vacation, and thank you again for volunteering your time to make Cold Spring the wonderful, happy, and fun school that it is! :)

The Town and Country Players in Buckingham will be putting on a production of "Holes", based on the Newbury- Award winning Young Adult novel by Louis Sacher ... featuring Cold Spring parent and substitute teacher Gary Beck! This family show will open July 15 and run for three weekends until July 30. Here is a synopsis of the show:
Stanley’s family is cursed with bad luck. Unfairly sentenced to months of detention at Camp Green Lake, he and his campmates are forced by the warden to dig holes in order to build character. What they don’t know is that they are digging holes in order to search for a lost treasure hidden somewhere in the camp.

AmazonSMILE!
Cold Spring Home and School Association is now registered with Amazon to receive a donation for each purchase made through AmazonSmile. If you already shop online with Amazon or Amazon Prime, this is a great way to donate to Cold Spring while you shop.
AmazonSmile has the same products, prices, and services as Amazon or Amazon Prime, and Amazon does not share any individual customer or purchase information with its charitable organizations.
To begin using AmazonSmile to benefit our school:
- Go to https://smile.amazon.com/
- Sign in using your email address and Amazon password
- Search for and select “Cold Spring Home and School Association” as the charity you want to support
- Bookmark https://smile.amazon.com/ and use that link each time you shop at Amazon (rather than amazon.com).
That’s it – it’s that easy! A portion of each purchase you make through AmazonSmile will be donated to our school.
You can read more about this program at http://smile.amazon.com/about/.
