The Soto Scoop
Seek Excellence, Achieve Results
Happy February! This is such a sweet month!!! Everywhere we look, we see such great growth and sweet smiles from our students. We are off to great places with academics and extracurricular activities galore! Last week we cheered our girls and boys basketball team and the running club held its first practice. The campus is alive--full of learning and fun!
Make sure to share in the love of the holiday season and let someone know you appreciate them. I am sure it will brighten up their day!
A few notes and reminders--
- Based on your feedback, this week we will host a Staff Meeting. Mr. Peña will briefly address us before we review our February calendar and conduct TELPAS training.
- Based on your feedback, PLC meetings will continue to be led by grade-level chairs and strive to answer our four guiding questions--What do we expect students to learn? How will we know they are learning? How will we respond when they do not learn? How will we respond if they already know it?
- If you are tutoring and have not received confirmation that your supplemental pay request has been approved, please see Mrs. Ramos to ensure that the request is processed for payroll purposes.
- The Credit Union of Texas announced a $20,000 scholarship for district educators. Educators looking for resources to continue their education may be candidates for a new scholarship created by Credit Union of Texas in honor of retired district administrator William H. Cotton. The $20,000 scholarship is available solely to Dallas ISD staff. The deadline to apply is Feb. 29, 2016. Requirements, links to the scholarship application and other details are available on the district’s Staff Page.
