Drop Off and Pick Up Procedures
Dear Parents,
Beginning on Feb. 18th through the end of the school year, the front drop off circle and front entrance at Ardmore will be closed due to construction. Ardmore will be adding an addition to the front of the building for the 2020-21 school year.
The new main entrance will be on the side of the building at Door 4 (see map). All students and parents will enter through this door.
Due to this change, we will have a change in arrival and dismissal procedures. We ask that you please be patient as we adjust to these new procedures. We anticipate that the first few days will be difficult and will take a bit longer for students to get out of the building. I assure you, dismissal will get faster the more we become accustomed to the new procedures.
Procedures for Drop OFF in the morning:
- Enter the car line by following the arrows on the map. Please Note: You will only be allowed to turn right into the car line.
- Pull up as far as you can in the car line. This helps speed up the process.
- Students can be dropped off at Door 4, but not before 8:30
- Be sure to stay in line and in your vehicle.
- Parents DO NOT get out of your cars. Students are required to exit the car by themselves, CURBSIDE only at 8:30 a.m. Staff members will be on duty to assist students into the building.
- If you arrive after 8:50, you will need to come inside Door 4 to sign your child in.
- Please follow the designated path to exit the parking lot. You will not be able to drive in front of the ELC as that will be the bus lane.
- Each Family will be assigned a number. You will receive 2 laminated numbers for your cars, etc. You must show your number in order to pick up your child. Each student will have this same number attached to their backpack. (see sample tag on the top right of the page)
- If there is a change in transportation, you must notify the school office by 2:45 pm.
- Your child will NOT be allowed to go home with anyone else unless we have a note, you have emailed the teacher, or you have called the school office by 2:45. This is imperative in keeping our students safe.
- If someone else is picking up your child, they must know your child’s number in order to pick them up.
- All walkers will be dismissed at the kindergarten door (Door 6), if parents meet their children to walk home, please meet them at this door.
- All students who ride the bus or go to daycare will be dismissed from the library. (Door 7)
- Enter the line by following the arrows on the map. Please Note: You will only be allowed to turn right into the car line.
- Cars are to form a single line.
- Students will only be released to those in the car line.
- Be sure to have the tag with your child’s car rider number visible. This tells the staff on duty that you are authorized to pick up. If you need an additional car rider number, please contact the school office.
- Staff members will radio your child’s car rider number inside and students will be dismissed to your car.
- Students are required to enter the car by themselves CURBSIDE only. Staff will be on duty to support students as needed.
As stated previously, we anticipate that this will take longer the first few days, but it will get faster as we learn our new procedures. Please be patient with us as we just want all of our students to get home safely.
Please call the school office if you have any questions.
Thank you!

Ardmore construction has begun! We will be adding an addition onto the front of the building in order to have a secure vestibule. Census 2020 is coming!
Every 10 years, everyone living in the United States is asked to complete a simple but very important constitutional task: Respond to the Census. The 2020 Census is a questionnaire that asks a few basic questions, like the age, sex, and number of people who live or stay in your home, including young children and newborn babies.
Households will receive a mailing from the U.S. Census Bureau with instructions on how to fill out the census in March 2020. Responding to the 2020 Census is an easy, safe, and important way to help provide resources for children and their communities for the next 10 years. Learn more at 2020census.gov or www.asd4.org/census/
Job Opportunities
The U.S. Census Bureau is recruiting to fill hundreds of thousands of temporary positions across the country to assist with the 2020 Census count. Although the positions are temporary, the wages are very good and are paid weekly. There are a variety of positions available including census takers, recruiting assistants, office and supervisory staff.
