The First Week Has Ended!

It's been a busy few days here at SIG at the University of California in Berkeley. The students have had a busy week of classes, but we've also squeezed in some fun! We participated in counselor group activities on Tuesday, the Staff Talent Show on Thursday, and Brain Bowl, our academic battle of the minds, on Friday. This SIG tradition is a competitive trivial game that challenges students to answer over 100 trivial questions related to world history, U.S. history, literature, math, and science. On Saturday, the students explored Fisherman’s Wharf and Union Square in San Francisco and wrapped up the day with an Italian "SIG-nic" and a movie night. Luckily, Sunday was a more relaxing day with a little time to sleep in, Mini-Olympics, and a "Happy" video challenge. Our senior students participated in two Senior privilege events: a soccer game at Clark Kerr with students from the UPrep program and a shopping trip on Telegraph Street. Although, we've had a great time every night the past few days, everyone is excited about engaging in even more interesting topics and new ideas in their classes today.

Important Note for Parents/Guardians:

If you plan on signing out your child, or allowing another family member or family friend that is on the Permission to Leave form to leave campus, that is great! If you have not completed this form, we need written permission via email. We just ask that you call our office or email me, so we know about sign-outs in advance. We can make sure the student is ready to leave and have a great time with you. For safety reasons, my staff will also ask for identification. Thank you for your help!
