Book Fair - Thank You!
THANK YOU to our wonderful librarian, volunteers and attendees for helping to host a successful book fair! We couldn't do it without you all! With the money earned at our book fair, Mrs. Chmiel is able to purchase many new books for the library. The book fair profits also allow every teacher at our school an opportunity to pick out lots of new books for their classroom libraries.
A huge THANK YOU for everyone who helped support this year's book fair. While the in-person fair is all packed up, you can still shop online until November 27th. All book only orders over $25 will ship free to your home. Scholastic will give back 25% in rewards to the library with all online orders through this link: Kids Books, Books for Children | The Scholastic Parent Store.

Ready Start Program Open Enrollment
The Ready Start program is a blended multi-age, inclusive model, serving students, ages 3 – 5.
We are currently enrolling at both locations (Sorenson and Woodmoor Elementary) for the 22/23 school year. Classrooms are taught and supported by a general education teacher, a special education teacher, and a para-professional. Inclusive classrooms create a dynamic learning environment for all students. The average class size is 16 students, with class make-up of 8 students with Individual Education Program, 4 students who pay tuition, and 4 students who are income eligible. Classrooms utilize The Creative Curriculum & Teaching Strategies GOLD Assessment Tool. The staff is committed to fostering student learning and cultivating friendships while creating a sense of community for our students. Utilizing developmentally appropriate teaching strategies to support a whole child approach to learning an inclusive environment, fosters high levels of student learning and social and emotional growth for all students.

Weekly Covid Case Update
The Department of Health (DOH) requires schools to inform families and students about COVID-19 case numbers and potential outbreaks. This week, there were a total of 1 confirmed cases at our school. The accuracy of our data depends on self-reporting. Thank you for continuing to let the school know if your child tests positive for COVID-19. To view additional information, including school and district trends visit the District’s COVID-19 data dashboard. The dashboard is updated weekly on Monday evenings.
If your child is exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 keep them home and test for COVID-19. Families can order free COVID-19 tests from the state. Together, we can keep our schools healthy and safe.
