Locker Cleanout
Dear Northwood Parents/Guardians and Students:
With the closure of schools for the remainder of the year we understand that students need to retrieve items from their lockers and personal owned/rented musical instruments. Seventh graders may have PE lockers to empty. Students may have books, calculators, novels, school-owned musical instruments and other items that need to be returned to school. There will be tables on the lobby to set returned items on by grade level. We are looking for books owned by Elyria City Schools, Northwood, a teacher or a library.
Please fill out this google form. If you do not fill out the form by Thursday May 21st, you will automatically be assigned a time slot.
Only students will be admitted into the school building.
Family members should not expect to gain entrance to the school.
Students will be required to adhere to the guidelines set forth by Governor DeWine for proper social distancing and safety.
Students must wear a mask in the building
Students must remain 6 feet apart
Northwood will have staff on campus to assist students to adhere to social distancing guidelines. Students will be directed to pick up their personal items, this will not be a social gathering. Please do not plan to arrive with a friend or walk the halls in a social manner as this will not be permissible out of concern for the health and wellbeing of students and staff.
Things to consider:
All personal items should be removed from lockers, bring a bag.
Locks will be collected
Students are to bring their IDs. They will be collected as well.
Leave lockers open once empty
Classrooms will not be accessible.
All academic materials, including school loaned musical instruments, will be dropped off in the band room or orchestra room. Student owned/rented instruments can be picked up in the band room or orchestra room.
Students with siblings at Northwood should use the day assigned to the oldest sibling.
Please respect the 15 minutes time slots.
Assigned Dates/Times
● Tuesday May 26 6th grade 9:00-3:00
● Wednesday, May 27 7th grade 9:00-3:00
● Thursday, May 28 8th grade 9:00-3:00
We recognize some parents' work hours may necessitate some students need to come to school in the evening. There may be a line to wait to get into the school. Expect potential delays and follow requirements to adhere to distancing regulations.
Evening Hours 4:00-7:00 Wednesday May 27
Please contact your school principal if you can not attend during your assigned time slot. These will be the only days for student locker clean out. Anything left behind may be discarded.
Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions about this process. Thank you for your patience and cooperation during this unprecedented time in education. I know we all look forward to getting back to our “normal”. Stay healthy. Stay safe. Stay PIONEER STRONG.
Sincerely,
Michael Basinski
Where are the grades?
I have received a few emails about grades not being put in PowerSchool. The grades are there, you just have to did a little deeper. When you see the main screen that shows all the quarters and the grades, the fourth quarter should have a blank or a lowercase i, it looks like the incredibles i. When you click on that "i" it will show the list of assignments. Look under the grade columns and there will either be a "P" or an "I". If you have any questions, please reach out to the teacher.
