Pine Plains Families - Welcome to the PPCSD Bombers Bulletin!

Reminder – PPCSD Strategic Planning Thought Exchange Link Open Until November 12th!
Way to go Pine Plains! Many of you have already provided feedback for our strategic planning process. If you haven’t had a chance to jump in or to go back and see what’s new in the exchange, please do so! We’d really like your feedback as we begin our strategic planning process. We would like to know how you feel about the work of the district now and what we should be considering for the future. Our plans will be based on your input.
Please share your thoughts by clicking on the following link to our thought exchange: https://tejoin.com/scroll/482473543
Look What's Happening In Our Schools!
Stissing Mountain Jr./Sr. High School
On November 18th, Stissing Mountain Jr. Sr. High School will be celebrating their first ever Heritage Day! Students will develop an awareness about their community by learning each other’s history and traditions. During the day students and staff will have the opportunity to share stories that represent their roots. At the end of the day, from 4 pm to 5:30 pm, there will be a potluck dinner for staff, students and families wishing to participate! Please contact the main office for more information.
Stissing Mountain High School is proud to announce that we have three Cross Country athletes qualified to compete in the NYSPHSAA Cross Country Championships! The meet will take place at Verona High School on Saturday, November 12th. This is the first year for our Cross Country team and Coach Sam Lydon has done an amazing job building the program. Good luck Violet, Jared and Max!

Seymour Smith ILC
On November 16th, SSILC will be hosting a Holiday Meal. Students at Seymour are encouraged to invite someone in their lives they appreciate and would like to share lunch with. This can be a Veteran that they know, a special grandfriend, or just a special someone in their lives that they are thankful for. After lunch, students will have the chance to have fun and play games with their guest! What a great opportunity for our students to make memories and strengthen a lesson on thankfulness.

Cold Spring ELC
October was National Anti-Bullying Month. To spotlight this message, Mrs. Fischetti read the book, Spookley the Square Pumpkin, by Joe Troiano, to the Cold Spring students. The book tells the tale of Spookley, a square pumpkin, who learns, with the help of his friends, Jack the Scarecrow and spiders, Edgar, Allen and Poe, that it is okay to be different. It was a heartwarming story for our youngest learners!
The results are in, the students and the staff of Cold Spring ELC have voted! They’ve selected an adorable cub to represent them as their new mascot. They are now the Cold Spring Cubs!

It’s hard to believe that it is almost the end of the first quarter already!
