SEM Splashes Into Summer Reading!
Week of June 27, 2016
Happy Summer!
School ended last week, but we are hoping to keep the SEM school family in touch this summer as we celebrate and share all of our fun summer reading! Each Monday this summer, look for an updated newsletter which will include an SEM educator reading aloud to children, a Padlet to add what you and your family are reading, Farmingdale Library highlights, and other great reading information. We hope this helps your family to "splash into summer reading!"
It's Monday- What Are You Reading?
A Padlet is a digital bulletin board. Each week, we will ask #IMWAYR- It's Monday- What Are You Reading? You can click on the link, which will bring you to the Padlet. Then, simply double-click anywhere on the page, type in your name as a title and then share what you are reading. You can also take a picture of your book, of a selfie with the book, and share that too! It will be fun to see what everyone is reading and might help friends who need a good book recommendation! Join us!

Summer Book Swap at the Farmingdale Library
Mark your calendars! Monday, July 25 and Monday, August 22nd, SEM teachers Ms. McKnight and Mrs. Sokolowski will be at the Farmingdale Library (lower level, Conference Room E) hosting a summer book swap. The window for swapping is 11:30am-2:30pm. Stop by (with a parent) anytime during that window to exchange a book you read for a new one! If you don't have a book to swap, feel free to come anyway and pick a book. Chat with the teachers about what you are reading this summer and recommend books to your SEM pals. Hope to see you there!
