Weekly Happenings

Week of 12/9/19

A Message from the Administrator:

Greetings MCS Families,

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving Break!!! As many of you know we lost our dog out by Kamiak Butte on Friday and spent the entire weekend looking for her. Luckily the social media campaign to find her worked and she was found Monday morning a couple miles away from where she went missing. We appreciated the help from everyone involved.

Construction has really been busy the past few weeks. Last week alone the plumbing and conduit for the electrical have been installed and the inside was back filled with rock and then two inches of sand on top of that for additional cushion. Half of the slab went in on Monday, which will be our main floor for the building. After that, lumber will be delivered and framing should begin. It’s been a very exciting process to watch.

As a reminder, winter is arriving and many students are not coming to school prepared. Students in the younger grades are still coming in shorts and without coats. Please make sure that your child is coming to school appropriately dressed for the elements. When students are gone due to illness it does affect their ability to learn and negatively affects our reporting to the state for funding. Healthy kids make for happy schools.

I hope you have a great week!

Shirt Orders

Shirt orders will arrive next week and will be sent home with the kids on Tuesday, December 17th. If you have chosen to pick up the shirt at the pick-up event, these will be the times:

  • Tuesday, December 17th at 2:45 to 3:10 PM
  • Wednesday, December 18th at 2:45 to 3:10 PM

If none of these options works for you, please send me an email tomcspat@moscowcharterschool.org

Rummage Sale

The Rummage Sale is scheduled for January, but the date will depend on whether or not we can find a location. We have previously done it at the MPR, but with the construction that will not be an option this year. We are looking for a place to store items until the event, so if you have space we can borrow please send me an email to mcspat@moscowcharterschool.org
