Back to School 2020

Big picture

From the Principal's Desk

Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year! We are so excited to have our returning and new cardinals join us for an exciting year of learning and growing together! This year will be a unique opportunity for all of us to use the words of the year "grace" and "flexibility". While we are beginning the school year with new procedures and practices, we want to reassure you that your child's health, safety, and learning are our top priority.

We have new additions to our staff this year. I would like to welcome the following:

Second Grade: Miss Stephanie Ward

Instructional Assistant: Jennifer Emch

Relationships are the heart of the school community. Although we are unable to have volunteers and visitors in the building for the first semester, we encourage you to reach out to your child's teacher to see if there are other ways of becoming involved in your child's classroom.

Your child's teacher, our office staff, cafeteria staff, instructional assistants, custodial staff, and I are all here to provide a learning environment that is full of warmth, laughter, and learning.

We wish everyone a healthy and happy school year!

Warmly,

Mrs. Brandie Muha

Principal

Back to School Night

Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, we are unable to hold our traditional Back to School Night.

To alleviate back to school nerves as much as we can, we will be doing the following:

1. We will hold a virtual Back to School event August 14 for grades 1-5. You will receive an email with a video introduction from the office and other specialized programming teachers. Later, your child's classroom teacher will send out another video through email showing their classroom and introducing themselves.

2. For our incoming kindergarten students, we want to alleviate beginning of school jitters. Parents will be receiving communication regarding a Meet the Teacher event for our kindergarten students that will be held on August 17.

3. Families new to Oak Hill: Please feel free to contact the school if you would like to schedule an individual tour of the school.

3. You are able to drop off student school supplies at any time during office hours in the security foyer. Please make sure supplies are in a bag with your child's name on it.

Medication at School

All prescription medications need to be brought to the school office by a parent/guardian and a permission form will need to be completed. We will not give any student medication without this signed form. All medications must be in the original prescription bottle.

Calling Your Child Off

  • Call the main office at 696-9285 by 8:30 a.m. to let us know if your child will be absent for the day.
  • When your child returns to school, if you have a doctor's note please send with your child.
  • Please read more about absences in our Student Handbook located on the district website.

Appointments During the School Day

  • Send a note to your child's teacher informing her of the departure time.
  • An adult with a valid picture ID must come into the office to sign the child out and back in.
  • Please allow for sufficient time for your student to come to the office.

Meet the Oak Hill staff! We are here to serve!
