Outdoor Education
Outdoor Leadership
The Rifle High School Outdoor Leadership class completed their final two field trips for the school year. On the first, a student-planned and -led trip to Moab, UT, students hiked to multiple sandstone arches, went white water rafting, rock climbing, and canyoneering. Throughout the trip, students pushed the limits of their comfort zones high off the ground and bonded over a fun, long weekend.
The second trip, in partnership with an organization called Eco Flight, was a flight over Rifle in a small Cessna airplane. Students flew over the area and witnessed the complexities of the oil and gas industry from the air, the complications of water usage of the Colorado River, as well as urban sprawling in the area.
Unplug this summer
The Garfield Re-2 Technology Department wants to encourage all students to unplug from their digital devices this summer.
