Week 2, Term 2
Off and flying....
Incursions, excursions .... what a great way to kick off the term - immersion in the topic. I had only a brief look at 'History in a Box' but I was impressed with the content and more so, the attentiveness of the students. As Brenda and I discussed though, It's a bit sad when the artefacts from 'history' are a part of your childhood. This week the 5/6's get out and about and the F/1's have a mega day planned.
An interlude with ANZAC Day giving us a holiday on Thursday. You might spend some time reminding the children about why they are having a day off.
Have a cheery week everyone.
This weeks focus: Acceptable levels of noise inside the building!
The more you read, the more things you'll know. The more you learn, the more places you'll go! Dr Seuss
Reminders....
- This month we begin the enrolment process for 2014 (can you believe it) with some school tours next Tuesday and Wednesday. This is a chance for us to showcase our school to prospective families. Undoubtedly they will want to see the F/1's in operation but it is important that the rest of our school is 'seen' as we would want it to be... an exemplary learning environment.
- Bags .... off the floor please. They are an OH&S issue for not just the students but for you as well.
- Yard duty = proximity. Please keep on the move and get up close and don't accept the unacceptable, especially from our seniors. Let's keep talking about it and backing one another up. We need to see an improvement and our children involved in healthy, harm-less activities.
- It's newsletter week.... if you have anything that you would like to contribute to celebrate learning in our school please make sure that Christine has it by Wednesday morning at the latest.
