What is White?
by Isabella White
White is clouds,
White is shells,
White sounds like the ringing
of afternoon bells.
White is ice,
white is bones,
White is all color,
White is hailstones.
White is the stars, sun, and moon,
White is the search light's gleam,
If White had a flavor,
It would be cream.
White is marsh mellows,
White is leaf bare,
White feels like cold and frosty,
White is the sweet scent of orchids
In the air.
White is vanilla,
White is snow,
White is my candle's
Soft edged glow.
White is crystals,
White is onions,
White is the light,
The light is White.
