TIGER TALES

July 2020

WELCOME BACK TAFT TIGERS!

Hello Taft Family!

We are excited to begin our adventure with remote learning. One day, when it is safe, we will open back up our classrooms for in-person learning. Our Taft staff has been working hard to recreate Taft's tradition of excellence through a new, and improved remote learning experience. We are here to assist you and your child in any way we can. We are in this together.

BACK TO SCHOOL

Remote learning will begin August 4th. Teachers will be posting a weekly schedule. Our virtual classrooms will be held in Canvas. You will receive more information soon.

Participation is an expectation for all students. Attendance will be taken daily and students will receive grades reflective of their learning, effort, and completion of assignments/tests.

DEVICE DISTRIBUTION

JULY 29 AND JULY 30, 7:00-11:00 AM

We will be handing out the laptops in a drive-thru format. You must remain in your vehicle at all times. Parents or legal guardians and students must be there in person to pick up their laptops. At pickup, staff will be asking families if they have reliable internet access and will have flyers with information about purchasing low-cost internet. Along with their laptop, students will be given instructions for logging on to their laptop, connect their laptop to WiFi and how to enroll in the Device Protection Plan.

MEET THE TEACHER

Meet the Teacher will be held virtually this year.

Thursday, July 30th 4:00-6:00 pm and Friday, July 31st 10:00-12:00 pm.

On July 28th, you can find out who your teacher is by checking the parent portal.

Look for an email from your teacher on Wednesday evening, July 29th, regarding information for signing up for a 10 minute video meeting slot.

All teachers will also be creating introduction videos.

We are excited to meet our students!

MEAL SERVICE
