GenNET ITV Winter/Spring 2016 Program Updates

Scheduled Presenters for January, February and March 2015

Once again Technology and Media Services is partnering with Career Technical Education and the Genesee Career Institute to include local presenters broadcasting LIVE, a two-way interactive event. The event will be broadcast live from GenNET ITV middle schools and available high school ITV sites.


Presenters represent professionals parallel to Michigan Career Pathways. Additional local career specialists are welcome and will be added in the coming weeks.


Scheduled presenters (with additional presenters to be added later) include:



  • TIANA D. HAYNES, Cosmetologist at the Genesee Career Institute brings with her a history and wealth of knowledge about working in the cosmetology field and what is needed to have a successful career in this competitive field.

  • DAWN HOLCOMB, Bio-medical/Forensic Specialist instructs and works with sensitive materials and instructs future forensic specialists. Learn how to work in the field of Forensic Science and how it integrates with law enforcement.

  • RENEE HAND, USA Award-Winning author of children's books; chapter books for elementary and middle school such as The Crypto Capers, Joe-Joe Nut plus many others. Her speciality is writing children's interactive mysteries, combining educational elements while teaching young people to believe in themselves. She will also discuss how to prepare for a career in writing and what it take to become a published author.

Remember: Each presentation will be available for one (1) sending site and up to three (3) remote sites with up to 30 students under adult supervision at each site.

To learn more about the "Tuesdays With..." click on the box below which explains the format for presentations and additional information about the program. This is information is also given to local district middle school and high school counselors for selecting students to attend "Tuesdays With..." presentations.

Michigan Career Pathways

Presenters for "Tuesdays With..." can fit into any of the six Michigan Career Pathways such as:

  • Arts and Communication: Careers related to the humanities and the performing arts, visual, literary and media arts
  • Business, Management, Marketing, and Technology: Careers related to all aspects of business including accounting, business administration, finance, information processing and marketing
  • Engineering/Manufacturing and Industrial Technology: Careers related to technologies necessary to design, develop install or maintain physical systems
  • Health Sciences: Careers related to the promotion of health as well as the treatment of injuries, conditions and disease
  • Human Services: Careers in child care, civil service, education, hospitality, and social services including law enforcement.
  • Natural Resources and Agriscience: Careers related to natural resources, agriculture and the environment
