Spaghetti Squash
Making connections
And the winner is...
In preparation for our C1 Community Thanksgiving, each C1 family is making a different traditional food. We learned that winter squash is one of those traditional foods AND it grows in the rainforest (so we are making connections with our theme-related project). We also realized that many children have never eaten it before (I had never cooked it). We tried 3 different recipes (pictured below) and we wrote recipes afterward (*Standard-Participate in shared research and writing projects (e.g., explore a number of “how-to” books on a given topic and use them to write a sequence of instructions.) Learners will be bringing recipes home to share with their families.
Of the 3 recipes, we chose one that we thought the most learners would enjoy.
The winner is...Spaghetti Squash and Meatballs.
The best part is that this recipe only has 3 ingredients and its super easy.
Click on the sign up genius below to help with ingredients for our feast. Thanks!

Since we couldn't donate fresh squash, we chose green beans to help others enjoy their Thanksgiving feasts. Thanks for helping us collect cans of green beans for the Food Bank. Send in green beans until Tuesday. They are picking up all of our collections on Tuesday afternoon.
