Cluttered Classroom Is Getting A Redesign!
I cannot fully express my joy, excitement, and thanks for the donations to our classroom project. Because of each generous donation, our classroom will be able to remove desks/chairs in order to learn comfortably and collaboratively.
Students will get comfortable seating to discuss learning, common literacy books, and encourage one another as writers. Students will now get the opportunity to bounce or move to refocus their brain. The lap desks will allow students to move around the room and continue to work collaboratively or independently. All of these things will allow our active classroom to experience realistic, collaborative learning while preserving the FUNdamentals of schooling.
With gratitude,
Mrs. W.

Texas History
We are taking the journey with explorers as they begin to travel toward the unknown lands (North America).
Science
This picture is from our first week together. What form of energy can you observe/inference from the picture? The different forms of energy include mechanical, sound, electrical, light and heat/thermal energy.
Math
Today, we looked at different strategies to multiply a 2-digit by 2-digit number. We bridged concrete base-ten blocks to the array model, area model, partial product, and the standard algorithm for multiplication. Currently, we are working on using our most comfortable strategy when solving multiplication cluster problems. Look for our strategies to continue moving forward this week.
Reading
Today, we collaborated on our prior knoweldge of plot line, including creating an interactive anchor chart for fiction. We will continue to collaborate and sequence the plot's main events. Stay tuned and watch our anchor chart grow as we grow as learners.
Writing
Althought Night of the Veggie Monster, is fiction, it could be real for those of us who dislike peas or broccoli. This story provided a great narrative voice. We will continue to use this story as we venture into plot lines.
Word Work
Word work is not just in ELA. We used math context problems to problem-solve and dicuss our thinking. We are working on making all of our thinking visible!
Nightly Homework will begin tonight!
