8th Grade Update
November 17, 2017
Dear 8th Grade Students and Families,
Happy Friday! We've reached the end of quite an incredible week here at Sacred Heart and we have a lot to share out about!
This week, we celebrated Mass with Cardinal Rosa Chavéz, a truly extraordinary man dedicated to spreading God's message of peace, love, and justice. Words cannot capture just how special it was to have him visit us this week. Hopefully, you can feel the joy and love as you check out the photos below!
A lot of important high school dates and deadlines are coming up. Have your calendars out and be sure to stay on top these key dates found at the bottom of this Smore. One important date to have on your radar is this coming Monday, November 20th. Starting Monday, you need to log back into your HSPT account and select the three Catholic high schools to receive your HSPT scores. I will send home more information on Monday.
This weekend, we have our last Open Houses. If you're interested in applying to Gonzaga or Don Bosco, make it a priority to get to there this weekend.
Open Houses This Weekend
Don Bosco Cristo Rey Saturday, November 18th from 12:00 - 2:00
Gonzaga Sunday, November 19th from 10:00 - 2:00
We are counting down the days until the HSPT and it's crucial that all 8th graders make time to study their prep resources every night for at least 10 minutes. Studying can take on many different forms, but I recommend going over our HSPT notebook notes, quizzes and worksheets done in class, rereading the Answer Keys, and jumping on Quizlet to review your vocabulary words. Over the weekend, I'll be sending everyone home with some grammar practice. Read below for more information.
Have a beautiful weekend!
Love,
Ms. K
