Weekly Buzz
Lincoln High School
January 22, 2024
Greetings, Lincoln Students and Families.
Last week, our sophomores and juniors completed their first Presentation of Learning. “A Presentation of Learning (POL) requires students to present their learning to an audience, in order to prove that they are ready to progress. Effective POLs include both academic content and the student’s reflection on their social and personal growth. They are important rituals – literally “rites of passage” for students.” POLs have become an important part of how our students in our college and career pathway programs demonstrate and reflect on their learning.
Below is one piece of data that we used to gauge how students felt before and after their presentation. The graph above reflects 155 students who have filled out the form so far.
SHOUT OUT to all pathway teachers for making this happen and to all teachers who made it a point to check out our presentations!

Community Schools Corner: UPDATED WEEKLY
We have Community Schools Funding available for this school year. One way our students can benefit from these funds is for school events and field trips for classes or clubs that align with the four community schools pillars. If you would like to make a funding request, please fill out the 23-24 Lincoln Community Schools Funding Request Form. Send any questions to Adam Armas (aarmas2@sandi.net).
We want to make sure we hear all of our staff members’ voices as we go through our needs assessment. Please take a few minutes to provide your feedback on the Community Schools Lincoln Staff Survey.
Parents and guardians are an essential partner in our students’ success. In order to move forward in our Community Schools journey, we need your help and guidance. A short survey will be sent via email and text to get your thoughts on how we should spend our funding (close to $2 million over the next five years). All families who fill out the survey will be entered into an opportunity drawing for a $100 gift card.
The Community Schools website is active! If you would like to learn more about what we are doing, please visit our Community Schools page!
