Madison County Schools Reopening Plan & FAQs
The current COVID-19 data indicates that our schools can safely begin the process of transitioning to in-person instruction before the end of the first nine-weeks. The Madison County School System is moving to Level 1 of our reopening plan and will resume face-to-face instruction based on the following schedule:
Transition Week PK-12th Grades
Group 1: Students with the Last Name A - K
- Attend on-campus instruction Monday and Tuesday, September 14th and 15th
- This group participates in remote instruction Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, September 16th, 17th, and 18th.
Group 2: Students with the Last Name L - Z
- Attend on-campus instruction Thursday and Friday, September 17th and 18th.
- This group participates in remote instruction Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, September 14th, 15th, and 16th.
Traditional Instructional Method PK-12th Grades
- Beginning Monday, September 21st, on-campus instruction will resume with normal school hours Monday through Friday.
- Remote instruction will continue as normal for those students that select remote instruction.
Traditional or Remote Learning?
The survey above should be completed for all HGHS students by Friday, September 4. Will you return to traditional, face-to-face learning or remain remote/online for the first nine weeks?
*If you submitted your decision in July, you still need to complete this updated form with your current decision.
Trojan Ambassador Application Open to Juniors & Seniors
Are you interested in becoming a Trojan Ambassador? Trojan Ambassadors are the official hosts and hostesses of Hazel Green High School. Ambassadors are a select group of outstanding students who meet and greet parents, dignitaries, and other visitors, as well as serve the administration and represent "the best" of the student body.
Ambassadors assist with the following: Freshman Orientation, Open House, EXPO Day, athletic events, hospitality rooms, concession stands, Special Olympics, Read Across America, Prom Promise Week, Senior Award Program, Hazel Green Elementary Open House and Field Day, kindergarten graduation, and special luncheons for faculty and staff.
This is open to juniors and seniors. The application is due Wednesday, September 9. First dates of participation for Trojan Ambassadors will be Monday, September 14, and Thursday, September 17. Ambassadors will only assist on one of these days, depending on their last name and need.
