Bravo, First & Second Grade!
On Wednesday evening, the first and second grade students sang, danced, played the xylophone and "kazoo-ed" in an energetic, entertaining musical performance. We are so proud of them! We would also like to share a special thank you to Music Teacher Mr. Deptula!
Mathematical Thinking
Students all across Dryden can be found working through complex mathematical thinking tasks together. It's truly amazing to see them sharing explanations, reasoning through problems and representing their thinking with numbers. The saying "In learning you will teach, and in teaching you will learn" is so true. We are all learning together!
Friday FLIPS
The Dryden staff is on the lookout for students going above and beyond in big and small ways to make a positive impact on their school community. These Dolphin sightings are recognized during the morning announcements on Fridays. The students below were recognized for exemplifying the Dryden Dolphin Do's of being CARING, RESPONSIBLE and SAFE. Stay tuned for updates on these awesome Dolphin sightings and Friday Flips!
Some Dates to Know in March...
Women's History Month
March is Women's History Month – commemorating and encouraging the study, observance and celebration of the vital role of women in American history. For more information, visit:
Greek-American Heritage Month
Greek-American Heritage month, also known as Hellenic Heritage Month, is observed in March of each year. March 25 is celebrated as Greece’s National Independence Day. This is a time to honor Greek heritage, including Greek history, culture, accomplishments, and experiences. With a vast cultural legacy and history, it is also a time to highlight Greek-American contributions to American history.
Irish-American Heritage Month
Irish–American Heritage Month is celebrated by proclamation of the President and Congress in the United States to honor the achievements and contributions of Irish immigrants and their descendants living in the United States. It was first celebrated in 1991 and coincides with the celebration of St. Patrick’s Day on March 17.
Holi, March 8
Holi marks the closing of the winter season and the onset of Spring. Throwing of colors to each other is the signature of this festival. It is also known as the Festival of Colors, the Festival of Spring, and the Festival of Love. It is an ancient Hindu festival and one of the most popular in Hinduism. This year, Holi is on March 8, but the date changes from year to year.
Illinois 5Essentials Survey
As of today, we have 17% participation.
Please take a few minutes to complete the 5Essentials Survey. Your participation in the parent portion of the survey will help us understand the conditions at our school and guide improvement. A report will be generated only if we have at least 20% parent participation.

Thank You, Dryden Community!
PTA would like to thank the generous Dryden community for supporting our All School Service Project January 30 - February 3. We collected MANY items off of Northwest Community Hospital's wish list which were dropped off the following week. Northwest Community Hospital wanted the students to know they were very grateful for the cards and items!
