Week 6 - Term 2 2022

Big picture

Kia ora e te whānau,

I hope your week is going well!

We are all looking forward to starting life education this week. Rooms 2,3 and 4 start on Friday and Room 5 starts on Monday.

Our focus is on working together as a team.

The Amesbury Cross-country which was scheduled for Thursday has now been postponed until term 3. Thank you if you were one of the volunteers who offered to help.

Rakau Nui is having a bake sale tomorrow morning (Thursday the 9th). A gold coin is usually sufficient.

We have quite a clothes collection in our lost property. If you are looking for something please check the clothing bin outside Room 4 or let us know and we can do it for you.

If you have any spare clothes, particularly tracksuit pants or trousers we would appreciate any donations. We also need some for kids who get wet, particularly over winter.

Ngā mihi,

Pounamu Teachers.

Eating times

Our children have two break times, at 11 and 1.10. During these times we supervise children for 10 minutes while they have something to eat.

The teachers then have their lunch, unless they are on duty over lunchtime. There are always adults around but if your child is a slow eater we may not always be able to stay with them the whole time unless they have a particular health need that we have applied for teacher aide help for.

If you have any concerns though let us know and we will ensure they eat the more filling items, like sandwiches first!

Covid - Orange level expectations

There are no requirements for masks at our year level but Pounamu children and teachers may decide to wear masks if they choose to.

We are able to have syndicate assemblies inside.

Parents are allowed onto the grounds but are asked to wear masks if they are coming into a classroom.

Library times

We have turns going to the library on Fridays. On an odd week Rooms 3 & 5 go, on an even week Rooms 2 & 4 go.

This week is week 4 so Rooms 2 & 4 will be going.
