Reopening Plan for MVHS on 10/20

MVHS Faculty and Staff are gearing up for Vista Classic students beginning October 20th. This plan is contingent upon the status of our County's health orders - namely staying out of the "purple tier".

Please see this general FAQ about what the reopening of in-person learning will look like at MVHS.

Students who have selected the Virtual Model will continue online learning as-is.

Opportunity for On-Campus Freshman Orientation

Attention Class of 2024:

All 9th graders in the Classic model are invited to join us on Monday, October 19th, for on-campus orientation. During orientation, you will take a tour of the campus, led by our wonderful Link Crew Leaders, review safety procedures, and pick up a Chromebook (if needed).

Students will meet their Link Leader at the outdoor amphitheater located on the backside of the theatre. Below are the times:

Last names A-L 9:30 am-10:30 am

Last names M-Z 11:30 am- 12:30 pm

If you are interested, PLEASE COMPLETE THIS RSVP FORM by October 14th.

Mostly Asynchronous Learning on 10/16 and 10/19

As we prepare for Classic students to return on 10/20, our staff and faculty are going to need the time to finalize preparation work in classrooms and across campus. Friday, October 16 and Monday, October 19th are instructional days for students, and most classes will be conducted asynchronously. In most cases, students will login to each course on time, receive brief instructions for the day, then will have the flexibility to complete assignments asynchronously.

Classic Students in Virtual Classes

Our two-model approach to learning created many complexities within our master schedule this year. One significant complexity is the fact that some courses are only offered once, and they are offered in the virtual model. Some of our Classic students are enrolled in those virtual classes; when we return to campus, the Classic students will be assigned to a space on campus to continue working with the virtual class online. We will provide more detail to these students when we return.
