FIELD PARK UPDATES:
Kindergarten Screening and Registration
Western Springs School District 101 to Host Kindergarten Screening and Registration
Kindergarten Registration and Screening will be held on April 15, 16 and 17, 2020 for Western Springs Elementary District 101 at All Saints Episcopal Church, 4370 Woodland Avenue in Western Springs. Any child who is eligible for kindergarten for the 2020-2021 school year is expected to sign up for an appointment beginning March 9 at 8am.
Visit www.d101.org for registration information, forms and the link for making appointments online through Sign-Up Genius. The window for making appointments closes on April 12.
A copy of the child’s county-issued birth certificate and copies of three proofs of residency (ie. real estate tax bill and utility bills) in addition to registration forms obtained from the district website will need to be submitted at the screening appointment.
Registration and Screening will take approximately one hour. Questions regarding this process should be directed to: Mrs. Rachel Corrough, Coordinator at 708-246-7678 or rcorrough@d101.org.
Western Springs School District 101 to Host Preschool Screening
Preschool Screening, for children ages three through five who reside in School District #101 and who will NOT be registering for kindergarten for the 2020-21 school year, is scheduled for April 20 and April 21, 2020 at All Saints Episcopal Church, 4370 Woodland Avenue in Western Springs with signup for appointments beginning March 16 at 8am.

A team of specially trained staff from the Western Springs Schools will be screening development in the areas of speech and language, vision and hearing, motor skills and cognitive skills. The screening process will take about one hour per child.
Parents of infants and toddlers between the ages of birth to 36 months, who are concerned about the development of their child, are asked to contact Child and Family Connections at 1-888-KONTACT (566-8228).

The Western Springs Foundation for Educational Excellence (WSFEE) Board is excited to announce the approval of several grants so far this academic year; we will highlight one grant each week in the Principal Updates at each school. This week, we’ll continue to learn more about Renovation for Innovation (R4I) with a quick video tour of a classroom that underwent renovation for the 2019-2020 school year: 6th grade ELA, Karen Moutvic, McClure
