James Hart School Update

January 3, 2022

Happy New Year

Tuesday, January 4th:

School resumes after Winter Break

Shield Testing for students and staff during PE periods.

The year 2022 is here! As we welcome students back to the building this week after winter break, we ask for your support and patience as we navigate through surging COVID cases. It is imperative for students to wear masks correctly and have an extra mask. Hand sanitizer is provided in all classes and at lunch. Also, we have several teachers that will be absent this week, so there will be guest teachers in classrooms. We are hoping to minimize disruptions to student learning as much as possible. As always, we thank you for your support!

Shield Testing

We will continue to have Sheild Testing for students and staff on Tuesdays at James Hart. Results usually take 24-48 hours to be reported.

We are expecting results on both Tuesday (1/4) and Wednesday (1/5) this week. Families will be contacted regarding positive cases and close contacts.

Student Computers

It is imperative that students bring a charged laptop to school each day to be prepared for class and assignments.

Just a reminder:

1.) Computers MUST be in their cases.

2.) Computers need to be charged EVERY night so that they are fully charged for the school day. (Leave chargers at home.)

3.) Only use your computer for teacher-approved activities. It is not appropriate or acceptable to play games, watch YouTube, or be on another site/app that is not specifically assigned by your teacher.

*Panther paws will be given for charged devices (90% or higher) once a week!

*Not following these rules may result in a warning, parent phone call home, teacher detention, or office referral.

Masks

Please make sure to remind your child about the importance of proper mask-wearing during the school day. Masks are required for the bus and to enter the school.

Students should bring an extra mask to school each day in their backpack.
