Note from Ms. Moulton
Greetings, Hosmer Families,
Happy Spring, everyone, and Happy Easter to those celebrating this weekend! Monday is going to be a BIG DAY for all of us with a shift towards full days of school for everyone. We are so excited!
Hosmer Spirit Day
As we celebrate this new start on Monday, we encourage you to wear your RED or your Hosmer Spirit Gear!
Here is a copy of the "In-Person Changes on April 5th" newsletter that was sent home last week. This should answer any lingering questions that you may have about the return to school on MONDAY.
Additionally, information is also available in the Hosmer Family Guide
Mandatory Testing & Addendum to Handbook Policy
As Dr. Galdston recently communicated at the School Committee meeting and in The Superintendent's Newsletter, as of April 5, 2021, pooled testing will be mandated for all students who are learning in-person. The School Committee unanimously approved the recommendation contained within the updated COVID-19 Handbook Addendum.
When families select in-person instruction five days a week at a distance of less than six feet, they agree to and understand the health and safety expectations as outlined by the District including but not limited to wearing a mask, participating in COVID-19 universal surveillance pooled testing, and abiding by social distance guidelines.
COVID-19 universal surveillance pooled testing will be completed once a week with a non-invasive anterior nasal swab testing protocol and is mandatory for all students who are learning in-person.
All students who will be returning to full 5-day in-person instruction will be required to fill out the “Commitment to In-Person Learning, COVID Protocols, and Consent for Pooled Testing” form prior to returning to in-person school. This additional safety measure is fully supported by the Watertown Health Department.

Temporary Shift in Frequency of Spanish Instruction
Sra. Heffernan begins her maternity leave this week. This week, she has assigned asynchronous work for students in her classes. While we have tried diligently to hire a substitute in these exceptional times, we have been unable to do so. Once we return in person we will adopt an ABCD schedule and classes will have Spanish every fourth day with Sra. Sharpe. On the alternate days students will participate in Math Workshop with their classroom teacher. It is our hope that this additional block of time will allow us to address learning needs from this year. This will return to "normal" in the new school year.
Thank you for your continued support of our wonderful school.

Some classes made cards to welcome new friends!
