Monday, November 9th

Dear Families,

Monday, November 9, 2020 is a Remote Learning Planning Day for staff. During the time that District 303 staff members are engaged in their learning, students have the opportunity to use this day to work on assignments or to engage in optional learning experiences that the district has created.

Please visit the website D303 Optional Remote Learning For Students to access this resource. The website houses a variety of optional learning experiences in the areas of math, digital citizenship, English Language Arts, college and career, virtual field trips, STEM, and social emotional learning. Although these optional learning experiences were designed for use on Remote Learning Planning Days, students are welcome to engage in the learning experiences on the website at any time.

Remote Families Picture Pick Up

If your child came and had their school picture taken the pictures are in!

Please feel free to stop by Wild Rose and pick up your child's picture. Pictures will be in our vestibule arranged by class and in alphabetical order.

Picture retake day will be determined at a later date for anyone that was not able to make it on that day and is looking to have their child's picture taken and put in the Wild Rose Yearbook.

CogAT Testing for 3rd & 5th Graders

Dear Families,

Between November 9 and November 20, 2020, 3rd and 5th graders will be taking the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT).

  • In-person Students

If your child is attending school in-person at the time of the test they will take it in school.

  • Remote Students

If your child is a remote student, you have the opportunity to have them come to the

Haines Center to take the CogAT.

Please see this letter with more details in regards to the CogAT test and signing-up for testing for remote students.

#D303 Thankful Campaign

November marks a season of Thanksgiving. Even in the current pandemic, there is so much to be thankful for in District 303. Over the next couple of weeks, we want to invite you to join us in taking a moment to express appreciation to staff members who have gone above and beyond in their work to support your children and/or family this school year. There are three ways that you can contribute to our #D303Thankful Campaign.

  • Write a note of appreciation to a staff member. You may download a notecard template on our website or create a note of your own to share.

  • Participate in our social media campaign by sharing a picture or thought using the hashtag #D303Thankful.

  • Share a story, note of appreciation, or photo on Let’s Talk using the D303Thankful button.

All of us in District 303 value your partnership, and appreciate your continued support of our district and schools.

Breakfast Option

Starting Tuesday, November 10th, Organic Life will be offering breakfast at all Elementary Schools.

Students will have the option to order breakfast in the morning as they already do for lunch. Organic Life will prep the breakfast bags and deliver them to the classrooms by 1:20pm each day for students. This helps to support students eating a breakfast before coming to school the next day.

Wild Rose Student Council Helps with Big Hearts of Fox Valley Toy Drive

Student Council will be aiding our families in collecting toys for Big Hearts of Fox Valley for the holiday toy drive. Toys should be new and unwrapped. Student Council members will be helping collect toys outside at the front circle and the bus drop off on the following date.

  • Wednesday, November 11th

The last day for drop-off is next Friday, November 13th! Student council was thrilled to collect the gifts at this mornings drop-off. THANK YOU!!

This is an opportunity for all of our families to drop-off and remain in their vehicles (in-person or remote).

Unwrapped toys can also be dropped off anytime in the front foyer of Wild Rose, if you need to drop off by November 13, 2020.
