Engineering company rights.
The intellectual rights an engineering organisation should consider when operating in a competitive environment
when it comes to any company they should consider a few things before they realise a new product in the market. Especially when it comes the competitive market.
Copy right.
when making a product and producing and then selling it as your own can cause a few issues. By this is i mean other companies can steal the idea and use it as their own and you can't really do anything and/or your company could have copied your idea from someone else and made it as your own, and this could cause issues for you.
inorder to protect other companies form stealing your work you will have to do a bit of market research to really see if there is something similar in the market and also when creating your idea and producing it you should always make a legal document stating this is your design and that you don't give permission for anyone to copies this design. once that is done when producing the product you will be able to add the C marking on your product stating that it is a copy right protected product.
Trademark.
Trademark is basically the same as copyright but where copyright is for goods the trademark is for names of things. Meaning that you could have a product and not have have a copyright on that product but you give the product a name and you have a trademark on the product then another company can steal your design but they can't steal your name.
Patent
paten-tenting your product give your the rights by the government for a set period of time giving the inventor the ownership of the new technology. it is normally a number and starting with a letter.
Design Registration
Design Registration
A design registration is basically registering your design. tis means that this design will now be registered with all the copy rights and with the trade mark on the product. Then the product is inspected in the market to see if this design or something similar doesn't already exist. then the government give the all clear and then registers your design in their books.
this is also a protection thing for the company. how? well it kind of makes sure that no one copies your idea and then claims it as their own.
