The Lion's Share
BCHS Counseling Office Newsletter-------------September 2016
Greetings from the Counseling Office
Welcome to the start of another school year and to the first edition of The Lion's Share. This will be a monthly publication full of information and strategies to help students navigate through high school and graduate college and career ready. Staying in regular communication with the school is key to success and you will find multiple ways to contact the counseling office listed at the bottom of this newsletter. We are excited to begin this new year and look forward to working with you.
Daily Announcements......We Deliver
Can't hear the daily announcements in the gym? Unable to get reminders written down quickly enough? Does your student never bring information home? We can help. The school administrative assistant, Mrs. Paula Shockey, sends daily announcements out via email to everyone who has signed up for her distribution list. To be placed on this list, call the school or email Mrs. Shockey at paula.shockey@boyd.kyschools.us.
Make High School Count
What students do in high school will determine the path they take to their future career. Whether or not this path is clear and straight or full of obstacles and diversions depends largely on decisions made in grades 9 through 12. For tips on making high school count, read the ACT publication linked below.
