What's new WMS?
Starfish of the week...
From Sarah Bauer to Cindy Jonsson. She always has a smile for students when they come to the office. I appreciate her gentle, calming spirit especially during stressful times.
From Carla Stone to Jason Scott ...for his willingness to dig in and do what needed to be done. I am honored to work with such a colleague.
3 WMS JA Biztown students were captured and are being used to promote to other schools to use the JA Biztown Curriculum. Well done Clara, Colten, and Alec!!!
WMS Students are Very Creative Thinkers
FROM WMS TEACHER:
We are working on process and design standards using paper airplanes.
Design - evaluate - modify/redesign, etc. One group was really struggling so they asked they could put their phone on "airplane mode" and throw it. While the answer was no, it is the most creative solution so far.

Extended Break Shut Down
Holiday Break is just around the corner.
With the extended break though, comes the reminder of Extended Break Shut Down protocols:
shut everything down - computers (teacher station and student stations), speakers, projectors, Smart Boards. In other words, make sure your room is ‘black’,
unplug as much as you can WITHOUT standing on chair - do not unplug stuff in the ceiling,
unplug and remove any extra holiday decorations that you may have brought from home (trees, wreaths, garland, etc)
I ask that someone from your team ensure that the grade level lab is shut down completely (towers and monitors completely off). Previous efforts with ‘automatic’ shut down are not working as designed.
And.....I hope all of you have a wonderful holiday season.
Enjoy your break with family and friends,
