- awareness of mid-range, highlander and low-range awareness
- ear infections can cause permanent hearing problems

Vision
- Ability to focus improves
- many preschoolers are somewhat farsighted
- nearsightedness is the most common vision problem
- close-up work leads to becoming nearsighted
Teeth
- children begin to loose baby teeth
- they loose their central incisors first
- by 12,20 baby teeth will be replaced
- common problem is tooth decay
Obesity
- common problem among school-age children
- obese=weigh more than 20% of same group
- affects 25% of school-age children
- impacts emotional health
- children may inherit obesity
