Everything You Need to Know about FTMS East
We Need Our Parents: PTC Elections
The students and staff need you help. Unfortunately, the April elections for the PTC board were delayed due to the limited number of nominees for the PTC board. Because of this we have pressed the election back to the May 14th meeting.
It is imperative we have a fully elected board for our PTC. Without a board the PTC can not function at FTMS East. This means all student events, and teacher events, sponsored by the PTC may not longer exist. Some families express concern about time commitment and this is understandable. With nearly 1,400 students in our building we have the potential of 2,800 parents who can help provide support. It is my sincere hope we are able to continue this outstanding student and staff support system.

Medication Pick-Up
Notice of Medication in the Clinic—May 2019: Pick up by parent
As the school year draws to a close, please be aware that if your student has medication in the clinic, a parent must transport it home. Medication will not be released from the clinic unless a parent takes it home. Empty prescription bottles will be sent home with the student. Students with doctor’s orders to carry emergency medication will be allowed to carry the items home, as FT procedure allows.
If your student has any type of over-the-counter medication that is not used frequently, please come into the school to pick it up before the last day.
If your child must take a prescription medication at school, please arrange to pick up the prescription by end of the day on Thursday, May 23rd. Any medication remaining after the end of the school day will be destroyed unless you have called the nurse in advance. The nurse is not in attendance over the summer. Thank you for your cooperation and support of student safety.

UPDATED POLICY-If you are picking up your student from school, you must enter the Main Office before we send a pass for the student. Please do not call ahead of time, we can no longer send a pass early. We want to make sure students are spending as much time as possible in the classroom.
If your student will miss more than one day due to a vacation, attending camp, going out of town for tournaments, etc., please email our Principal, Matt Vandermark at matt.vandermark@ftcsc.org, giving the student’s name, reason for absence and dates student will miss school. The student will then be called to the office and receive a form to have their teachers sign so they can receive make up work. The student will then turn that form in to the Main Office before the absence begins.
If your student goes to a Doctors appointment, please bring a Dr. note/return to school note if you want the absence marked as Medical.
