Message From The Principal
Good Afternoon Stoller families
This week we welcomed teachers back into the building for the first time in over a year. They spent three days preparing for those students who will return on the 19th for hybrid learning. It was inspiring to see their desire to make sure that when hybrid learning starts, they are able to support students that will be in the building as well as those who will continue with CDL.
I would like to thank our incredible PTO for providing breakfast, lunch, and brunch to Stoller staff this week. Their gesture helped create a warm and welcoming environment for staff to return to and it was very much appreciated. We love our Stoller parents!
As we continue planning for the next phase of this school year, we will continue to update you with any new information and/or guidance.
Next week I will be meeting with teacher leaders to discuss any items that we need to finalize before the 19th.
On April 13th from 6:00 - 7:00 pm I will be hosting a parent information session for 6th grade families who will be joining us for hybrid in-person instruction. See below for zoom information.
On April 14th from 6:00 - 7:00 pm, I will be hosting a parent information session for 7th and 8th grade families who will be joining us for hybrid in-person instruction. See below for zoom information.
Please review the "A Day In the Life Of A Secondary Hybrid Student" video below for an overview of hybrid instruction.
Families will continue with CDL for the remainder of the school year. All students will continue to access classroom instruction via Zoom with their teachers, including hybrid students when they do not attend in person.
Thank you and enjoy your weekend!

Hybrid/CDL FAQs
Please click the button below to view a document of FAQs that may not have been answered during the District Q&A last Wednesday.
*Some questions can not be answered at this time until we know actual numbers (who will be in hybrid vs CDL) next week. We will respond to those questions and continue to answer any others that have not yet been addressed after the survey deadline.
Some questions that were emailed were answered in the FAQ video.
Tips for Transitioning Students to Hybrid Learning
- Practice a consistent bedtime/wake-up time. Encourage students to try waking up at the same time every weekday.
- Since students attending IPH will be transitioning between in-person learning and learning at home, keep a checklist of supplies to bring to school.
- Set out clothes the night before to make morning routines simpler.
- Have your student eat breakfast.
- Practice wearing a mask at home to build up tolerance. Work with your student to find a mask that is comfortable for them and works for individual preferences.
- Allow time for students to ask questions and to process upcoming changes to their schedule.
From the Library
SORA is open 24/7 to check out ebooks or audiobooks. Also, the public library is open. All students have “Youth Access” cards for Washington County Libraries, which can be used to check out books electronically, or to check out up to six physical books.
Go to WCCLS.ORG for details and library hours.
Books can be reserved by placing a hold in Destiny and picking up from school. Click HERE for instructions.
Questions?
Please email kelly_anderson@beaverton.k12.or.us
Book Return:
A Book Return bin is located outside the Stoller main entrance on school days from 8:30am until 4:00pm. Books from any BSD Library can be returned to STMS, or Stoller books returned to any BSD School.
Can't find your library card?
The library card numbers that students got via Stoller from the local library follow the same pattern: BSD followed by your student ID number (example: BSD123456).
If you did not change your passwords, the automatic password is the last four digits of your BSD ID number.
Want to get digital books from the local library on your Sora account? Watch this library video to see how to do that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M5fz87H1svc

Stoller Volunteers
Welcome Stoller Volunteers!
Volunteering in the 2020-21 school year will be unlike previous years. Although we are unsure what remote volunteer needs will be, we invite you to create a volunteer profile or update your existing profile. This will ensure you are able to help Stoller staff and students through volunteer work as opportunities arise. A volunteer profile is required for all volunteering within BSD schools. Please follow the steps below to update or create your volunteer profile. Additional information is available at www.stollerpto.com/volunteer.
Existing BSD Volunteers (new to Stoller)
Please send an email to update_volunteer_locations@beaverton.k12.or.us and request to add Stoller Middle School to the organizations listed in your mVP account. Provide your full first and last name as it appears in your profile. If you will no longer be volunteering at an elementary school, you may also request to remove that school from your profile.
New BSD Volunteers
If you are a new volunteer to the Beaverton School District, you must create a volunteer account. This process includes a background check.
- Parent/Guardian: Complete the Parent/Guardian Volunteer Application
- Community Volunteer: Complete the Community Volunteer Application (This applies to Grandparents, Nannies, Neighbors, etc)
- Youth Volunteers: Complete the Youth Volunteer Application
Within the application, please include all of the BSD schools where you are a volunteer. You will have one profile for all your BSD volunteering.
- This step also initiates a background check. It will come up for renewal every 2 years.
- Once your background check is complete, you will receive an email from Stoller PTO stating your background check approval status, and your volunteer profile at myimpactpage.com will be active.
Thank you for giving your time and talents to Stoller this school year!
If you have any issues with your device or logging in, you will need to contact the Student Help Desk.
