Nativity Play Accourding to Matthew

by Ellie Spencer

Come and enjoy!

On Christmas Eve the local community invite you to join us in the gospel of Matthew Nativity play. Come and see what really happened when jesus was born, the way Matthew told his story. This heart warming nativity play will be preformed by the young voluntry students of St Peters & Pauls.

It all started off when an angel appeared to Joseph in his dream and said to him "Joseph descendant of David, do not be afraid to take Mary to be your wife. For it is the Holy Spirit that she has conceived. She will have a son, and you will name him Jesus because he will save his people from their sins. So Joseph did as he was asked by the angel in his dream. Jesus was born in Bethlehem, during the time when Herod was king. Soon after some men from the east who studied stars came to Jerusalem and asked where the baby king of Jews was being born so they could worship them. When King Herold heard abouth this, he was very upset and so was the rest of Jerusalum. The star studiers set off the find the baby king of Jews. They went into the house where the baby was and they gave him three gifts, gold, frankincense and myrrh. Then they returned to their country by road since God warned them not to go back to Herod.
