THIS WEEK...
11:30 Early Dismissal Day
On Wednesday, September 14, we will have an early dismissal day to provide for our teachers and administration the time they need for professional development. Additionally, Smoothies will be available for students who pre-ordered during enrollment.
Lower School - 11:30 A.M.
Middle School -11:40 A.M.
Upper School - 11:45 A.M.
After Care
After Care will be provided until 5:30 P.M. with Ms. Latour.
Lunch
Students attending After Care will need to bring lunch from home as the cafeteria will not be open on this day.
Carpool
PLEASE be sure that whomever is picking up your child in carpool has a car tag in the window or on the visor. We absolutely love seeing our grandparents assisting working parents; however, we can expedite carline with this simple step.
Lower School Chapel
Please join us on Thursday, September 15 beginning at 8:15 as Coach Kevin Diggs, shares in chapel with our students. Additionally, the students will be submitting their AR tickets for a chance to win a bike at Awards Day in May.
Click HERE for our Lower School Chapel schedule.
AR Tickets
ACCELERATED READER: Students in grades 1st-4th who score 85% or better on each AR quiz taken will receive one red ticket per quiz completed to be placed in a drawing on Awards Day, May 24 for a new bike. Four names will be drawn; four bikes will be won! The more you read, the more chances you earn!
During chapel on September 15, the students will have their first opportunity to submit tickets.
Black & Gold Day
Friday, September 16, is proclaimed by St. Tammany Parish President Pat Brister and St. Tammany Parish Public Schools Superintendent Trey Folse as the Children's Museum of St. Tammany's annual Black & Gold Day. They are inviting schools and businesses from across St. Tammany to come together to support the museum efforts.
Therefore, the students may pay $1.00 to wear Black & Gold or Saints shirts with modest short to help support these efforts.
Back to School Bash
Each month, the Lower School students, parents, and teachers will be invited to participate in commUNITY activities. For the month of September, we have two events: September 17 – Back to School Bash Movie Night and September 28 Varsity Volleyball Game.
September 17—Back to School Movie Night: On Saturday, September 17 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. in the wood gym, the K-4th grade students and families are invited to enjoy our very first commUNITY event of the year which will be a Back to School Movie Night featuring the animated Jungle Book. NCS Booster Club
The Booster Club is currently selling two special opportunities to students!
One student may be the "Football Tee VIP" at a home Varsity football game. This student would set up the football tee before and take away the football tee after every kickoff during the game. His/her name will also be announced over the loud speaker.
One or two students may be the "Wolverine Spirit Flag VIP" at a home Varsity football game. This/these student(s) would run back and forth across the sidelines holding the Wolverine spirit flag after each and every Northlake Christian touchdown. This opportunity may be best suited for Middle School students due to the weight of the flag but it is open to all students. His/her name(s) will also be announced over the loud speaker.
The cost for both opportunities is $25 per person, per game. A check can be written to NCS Booster Club. The home games that are available are September 9, September 16, and September 30 (Homecoming).
